Since leaving the White House in 2017, Michelle Obama spends the majority of her time out of the spotlight.

But, the former First Lady just proved that her impeccable style is still intact.

Elle's December issue sees the 54-year-old don luxury French brand Dior from head-to-toe for the magazine's cover shoot.

The ensemble features a $1,350 white poplin shirt and matching $4,900 pleated skirt, which is layered under a $2,400 leather corset. The total outfit costing $8,640 (around £6,690).

Michelle is no stranger to designer labels. Eight years as FLOTUS saw her work a wardrobe full of luxury brands including Gucci, Caroline Herrera, Jason Wu and Versace.

This is the first time Michelle has been seen in Dior. A brand which is also one of Meghan Markle's favourites - the Duchess of Sussex accessorised with a Dior handbag twice during the recent royal tour. Current FLOTUS Melania Trump is also a fan and even chose a suit by the fashion house to meet the Queen.

Not only does the cover story show off Michelle's sartorial side but also gives an insight into her life as First Lady. Michelle is interviewed by Oprah Winfrey to promote her soon-to-be-released memoir, 'Becoming', and spills on everything from her relationship with Barack to the pressures of being the first black family in the White House.
