POLICE are investigating after rubbish was dumped outside of a restaurant in Warrington.

On March 27, officers received reports of the incident at San Marino on Old Liverpool Road in Sankey Bridges.

“The caller reported that an unknown person had filled up a skip which was parked outside the premises,” a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”

The incident has been caught clearly on CCTV cameras which are outside of the restaurant.

The footage shows a man pulling up in a van, reversing, and dumping a mountain of rubbish in the skip before driving off.

The skip was paid for by the owner of San Marino, Miraz Yolcu, and it is there while renovations are being carried out.

But it is now full of someone else’s rubbish which includes wardrobe doors and a fridge, and Miraz is being left to dispose of this himself.

Even more shockingly, the skip is just a stone's throw away from Gatewarth Community Recycling Centre.

Miraz told the Warrington Guardian: “I am reporting an incident of fly-tipping involving a skip I legally hired and paid for, which is currently located at my property.

“An individual, who is not known to me and has no permission, has unlawfully deposited their own rubbish into my skip.

“Among the items left were large wardrobe doors with mirrors and a fridge—both of which are bulky, difficult to dispose of, and not part of the waste I intended to place in the skip.

“This has now left me responsible for removing and disposing of items that are not mine, which is both unfair and unacceptable.

“This is a criminal offence under UK fly-tipping laws. I have clear CCTV footage and images showing the individual in the act of illegally dumping these items into my skip.

“This evidence includes time-stamped video and still photographs. I have reported the matter to both the police and the environmental health department.

“I am requesting that appropriate enforcement action is taken, and I would like guidance on how to proceed with removal of the fly-tipped items without incurring further costs myself.”
